Memoir of Confederate Captain Samuel D. Buck about the American Civil War, circa 1890: typescript.

Reminscences of Buck's Civil War career as an officer in the 13th Virginia Volunteer Infantry, 1861-1865, describing campaigns under Jackson and Early, with details of troop movements, the conduct of generals, battles, and camp life. The memoir was published posthumously, by the efforts of his wife, in 1925 with the title: With the old Confeds : actual experiences of a Captain on the line. A manuscript note on a photocopy of the title page notes that the text of the typescript was mostly present in the published version but there are some omissions and alterations.
