Biographical Sketch of Creators: The Buie family were Scottish Presbyterians who settled in Robeson County, N.C., in the 1700s. Catherine "Kate" McGeachy Buie married Duncan Alexander Buie on 1866 June 21. The Buies enslaved people and were ardent supporters of the Confederacy. Duncan Buie served in the Confederate Army along with many other Buie relatives. The couple had at least four children, including daughters Fodie and Katie.
