- Enemies to faith. You told them that their lives would have to be pure, that they would have to learn the art of making peace, that they would have to love people that were not very lovable. Even so, teach us today, that we who forget you and follow in you, help remind us that it is costly, and our lives are not very pure, and we have never learned to love the unlovable, so come and teach us again today. Oh Christ, we remember that no place You ever walked through was the same. You walked by the sea, and fishermen left their nets to follow you. You walked through towns, and tax collectors repented. You walked through Jerusalem, and a whole city were shaken to it's foundation. Come and walk through our towns, by our seas, through our very lives today, oh Christ. Walk through our city streets and make them clean and prosperous, and free of violence and hatred. Walk through our battlefields across the world, and pity those who fight, and comfort those who are wounded and dying. Walk through this very house of worship and give to us, your people, a new birth, for no one else can do that. So come to us, Lord Jesus the Christ, and let us never be the same again. Let us join together in the prayer that Jesus taught us to pray. Our father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And, lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
