00:00:04.310 --> 00:00:06.030
<v Announcer>Long ago, Texaco was striving</v>

3
00:00:06.030 --> 00:00:07.100
to stay ahead of its time

4
00:00:07.100 --> 00:00:08.860
and developing fuels and lubricants

5
00:00:08.860 --> 00:00:10.570
that would enable man to push machines

6
00:00:10.570 --> 00:00:12.020
to the limit of their endurance.

7
00:00:12.020 --> 00:00:15.560
43 years ago, this little monoplane, Texaco 13,

8
00:00:15.560 --> 00:00:19.030
flew from Los Angeles to New York in 12 1/2 hours,

9
00:00:19.030 --> 00:00:21.750
setting a new transcontinental speed record.

10
00:00:21.750 --> 00:00:24.310
Texaco fuel and lubricants powered and protected

11
00:00:24.310 --> 00:00:26.460
this plane's engine on its record making flight.

12
00:00:26.460 --> 00:00:29.130
<v Narrator>Today a network of highways span the country</v>

13
00:00:29.130 --> 00:00:30.840
and man can drive coast to coast,

14
00:00:30.840 --> 00:00:32.970
pushing his car to the limit of its endurance.

15
00:00:32.970 --> 00:00:34.890
Air conditioning, automatic transmission,

16
00:00:34.890 --> 00:00:37.630
hauling heavy loads at high speeds for long stretches

17
00:00:37.630 --> 00:00:40.260
can actually cook the oil in an engine.

18
00:00:40.260 --> 00:00:42.440
Havoline Super Premium All-Temperature Motor Oil

19
00:00:42.440 --> 00:00:43.670
is built to take it.

20
00:00:43.670 --> 00:00:46.520
The same spirit of staying ahead and technical skill

21
00:00:46.520 --> 00:00:49.230
that went into the products used in Texaco 13,

22
00:00:49.230 --> 00:00:50.610
goes into today's Havoline,

23
00:00:50.610 --> 00:00:52.230
to help protect your car's engine

24
00:00:52.230 --> 00:00:54.250
in all kinds of driving conditions.

25
00:00:54.250 --> 00:00:55.683
For products you can trust,

26
00:00:55.683 --> 00:00:59.090 line:15%
you can trust your car to the man who wears the Texaco star.
