- We started off in Guantanamo and on a C-130 flew from Guantanamo to Iraq, Afghanistan and back to Turkey, had four days downtime in Turkey, went to Germany and then came to Virginia. And then, back to Guantanamo. A C-130 is a huge airplane. It's two-stories. There's individuals up in the top, they were trained by the Air Force, the only individuals who had guns. They were stationed up above, constantly just surveying back and forth between the detainees. And if any type of suspicious movement would happen or if the detainee got free or whatnot, they were the only individuals who could respond to it. And obviously, their response would be to shoot. Shoot upon site. The detainees, they were wearing denim suits, had gloves or not gloves, had goggles over their eyes, ear muffs and had gloves on. There was two restrooms designated for the detainees and two restrooms designated for the guards. What was kind of interesting was when we'd let them use the restroom, we wouldn't take the shackles off. So I can only imagine if they had to use the restroom during that flight. They probably had a very uncomfortable remainder of hours.
